Regional Climate

In a word, the weather in the Rocky Mountains is unpredictable. Temperatures are at best extreme, but you can expect temperatures to usually average in the high 60s to low 70s degrees Fahrenheit (20 to 22 degrees Celsius) between early June and September. Below we've outlined general temperatures throughout the year.

Travel Distances

The region is BIG. It stretches over 400,000 square miles (over 1 million square kilometers) but holds less than 3 million people. That works out to less than three people per square kilometer. Montana alone is roughly the size of Germany. In many areas, there is more wildlife than people, and it stretches across three different time zones.
